Elementary Credential Admission Requirements
- Degree from an accredited college/university*
- English proficiency (oral and written)
- Successful completion of the VBE Learning Services Division Montessori Foundation Course
Selection Procedure
- Review of 3 letters of recommendation and university transcripts
- Applicant interview
* Applicants with college/university degrees will be given preference. Applicants without a degree will be considered pending an interview and review of qualifications and life experience. Applicants accepted without a college/university degree are required to complete a degree within three years from the start date of the elementary credential program. A Montessori Elementary Credential can not be issued if this requirement is not met.

How Do I Apply?
Foundation Course
The Foundation Course is not a stand alone course. Successful completion of the Foundation Course is a prerequisite for admission into the Elementary Credential program.
An application for admission into the Elementary Credential Program must accompany the registration for the Foundation Course.
The tuition fee for the Foundation Course if the applicant does not have a Montessori Early Childhood Credential from a MACTE accredited training center is $500.
Note: The fee, of those who successfully complete the course, will be credited toward the elementary credential program tuition fee.
Elementary Credential Program
Complete & submit an Application for Admission with the tuition fee for the Foundation Course along with the following in one envelope.
- $100 non-refundable application fee payable to the Vancouver Board of Education - Learning Services Division
- College/University transcripts (2 original copies)
- Three sealed reference letters
- Evidence of teaching credential (if applicable)
Mentorship Program
Complete & submit an Application for Admission (download link) along with the following in one envelope.
- $100 non-refundable application fee payable to the Vancouver Board of Education - Learning Services Division
- College/University transcripts (2 original copies)
- Three sealed reference letters
- Photocopy of Montessori credential
