Open House: Synthetic Turf Playing Field Initiative
The Vancouver Park Board and Vancouver School Board are following through on a long-range plan to develop six new lit synthetic-turf sport fields in the city for school use and amateur sport play. Four of these fields have either been built or are currently under construction.
Open houses are being held to gather public input into where the next two fields should be built, with the following sites short-listed for consideration:
- Jericho Park – east or west field (1700 Discovery St)
- Memorial South Park Oval or NW Field (41st Avenue at Prince Albert)
- Rupert Park North (Rupert at Kitchener)
- Beaconsfield Park all-weather field (Slocan and 17th Avenue)
- Prince of Wales Secondary - East Field (4600 Yew St)
You will have an opportunity to learn more about the proposed lit synthetic turf fields and to make comments on any aspect of this initiative with Park Board staff. Please join us.
