Community Partnerships and Collaborations

CSTPartnership and collaborations are essential to the work done by the Community Schools Teams. In 2013-14, over 1000 programs were offered in partnership with a community-based agency.  Partners contribute to many aspects of the programs including staffing, program supplies, access to community agency facilities, volunteer recruitment and procurement, use of equipment, and funding. The work of the Community Schools Teams is heavily reliant on the contributions of our community partners who span the continuum of very local to regional, provincial, and national.  Some of our major partners include but are not limited to:

City of Vancouver (Parks Board, Libraries, Social Planning), Neighbourhood Houses, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Vancouver, YM/YWCA, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, MoreSports, University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, Emily Carr University, Langara College, BC Recreation and Parks Association, Vancouver Coastal Health, KidSafe, Vancouver Foundation, Literacy BC, Community Business Associations, the United Way of the Lower Mainland, Ministry of Community, Culture and Sport Development,  and, Vancity Credit Union.

All partnerships result in an impact, from funding initiatives, to collaborative planning, to the provision of in-kind supports and services. We are proud to be nurturing over 200 distinct partnerships within the Community School Team mandate.
