Update 1
November 2011 - January 2012 L'Ecole Bilingue Elementary School Renewal Project Page
Based on Ministry of Education requirements, a range of conceptual designs will be developed as follows: seismic upgrade of the existing school, a new replacement school, and a combination of upgrading/replacement (possibly more than one combination). Each conceptual design will address seismic safety, VBE school design principles, heritage retention, accessibility, connectivity between buildings, site works and improvements, building renewal and sustainability.
A public open house will be held in late February/early March to obtain feedback on the range of conceptual designs.
A preferred conceptual design will be presented to Committee II (Planning and Facilities) of the Board, likely in April 2012. Once endorsed by the full Board, the Project Definition Report describing the preferred conceptual design and the other concepts considered will be forwarded to the Ministry of Education for capital project funding.
