VSB Reception bids Farewell to Retiring Teaching, Administrative and Support Staff
On Thursday November 10, 2011 a reception was held at the Masonic Hall to honor employees from the teaching staff, administrative staff and support staff who retired during the 2010/2011 school year. The retirees were treated to some inspiring music from the Eric Hamber Jazz Band under the direction of teacher Nick Francis and were later serenaded by the Lord Byng Concert Choir under the director Lisa Lan. The retirees enjoyed a selection of appetizers and desserts and had a chance to connect with former colleagues and friends and share stories.
Superintendent Cardwell and Trustee Mike Lombardi thanked the retirees for their many years of hard work and service to the schools and students in the district. As a parting gift, retirees were given a First Nations “Raven” pewter spoon made in Canada.
Retirees who were unable to attend the reception will receive their gifts through the mail. See below for some great photos of the event:
