Winter weather ahead

All schools in the Vancouver school district will remain open, if at all possible during winter weather, including snowfalls.
Any district-wide closure will be decided by 6 a.m. at the latest, and announced via local media outlets, including: CKNW (980 AM), CKWX (News 1130 AM), CBC Radio (690 AM and 105.7 FM), Fairchild radio (1470 AM), The Morning News on Global, City TV's Breakfast Television, CBC television and CTV BC. School closures will also be announced via the school district's website and various media websites, including the Vancouver Sun and Province.
Information about school closures due to weather will also be available at 604-713-5000.
Individual school closures due to unique circumstances, such as power outages, will be announced as early as possible in the same manner.
No announcement will be made saying that schools are open -- only closures will be announced. Please do not call media outlets to determine whether schools are closed.
