EDB: Maintenance and Control Of Materials
The care, control, and maintenance of all instructional materials will be a school-based responsibility. Textbooks will be made available to all students in sufficient quantity and at appropriate levels so that they are optimally useful to each student and so that teachers can meet both the planned curriculum and the special instructional needs of the students, to the extent that the budget allows. All textbooks will be provided free of charge, subject to their return in good condition at the conclusion of the school year or course. A charge will be made for lost textbooks and for those returned defaced or showing undue wear.
Consumable materials such as exercise books, notebooks, pens, and certain laboratory materials must be purchased by the student.
Accurate records will be kept of instructional materials issued to students, and the materials will be adequately maintained. Obsolete materials and worn-out equipment will be replaced regularly.
