Principal’s Meetings

Principals will schedule school staff meetings to discuss matters the principal or associate superintendent - area consider necessary, to be held either after school, during unscheduled staff time, or at times specifically set aside for such meetings.  Agendas will be prepared, and staff members are encouraged to suggest topics for discussion.

Teachers are expected to attend all scheduled staff meetings, workshops, and workdays.  No teacher should be absent from a scheduled meeting, unless excused by the principal.

Staff Committee Meetings

There shall be established in each school, at the beginning of each school year, a staff committee.  Such committee shall operate without derogating from the duties and authority  vested in the principal/vice-principal.  The Vancouver Teachers’ Federation (VTF) Collective Agreement (Article 11C) may be referenced for additional information on committee composition, function, and meeting guidelines.
