PERIODIC TRANSFERS (ROTATION) OF COMMUNITY SCHOOL CO-ORDINATORS

  1. After a community school co-ordinator has been in a school for five years, the Director of Community Education Services, in consultation with the associate superintendent - area, will discuss the possibility of transfer with the principal and co-ordinator and ascertain what projects are being carried on that might require the co-ordinator to remain at the school for an additional period of time.  If the time for transfer is opportune, the Director of Community Education Services will ensure that the principal, Community School Advisory Council (or equivalent) and Staff Council update the community school profile to meet the expectations and philosophy of the school and community. The Director of Community Education Services will also notify the liaison trustee and make sure the possibility of a transfer and the process is understood.
  2. When possible community school co-ordinator transfers have been explored, there  will be a meeting of officials, chaired by the Superintendent of Schools, to discuss such assignments for the coming year.  If it is decided that a reassignment will be made to any school, the Director of Community Education Services will acquaint the in-coming co-ordinator with the community school profile, as outlined by the principal, staff, and the Community School Advisory Council (or equivalent).  When the projected assignments have been considered in the above manner, the transfer will be sent to the Personnel and Staff Services Committee (Committee IV) and the Board for approval.
  3. The assigned co-ordinator will be afforded the opportunity to meet the principal, staff, and the Community School Advisory Committee and discuss with them the philosophy and the expectations of the schools.
