IGBJ: Heritage Language Programs
Vancouver, as the "World Within a City", is a multicultural mix of many languages and backgrounds. The Board of School Trustees (the “Board”) believes that this unique characteristic of our city should be retained and supports the principle that heritage language instruction helps preserve and promote heritage language while maintaining and enhancing the cultural awareness of all citizens. The Board, therefore, wishes to encourage heritage language by accommodating such school programs whenever possible, at minimum cost to the Heritage Language Schools and no additional cost to the Board.
