    • apply in writing to the Associate Superintendent - District Learning Services giving details of professional training and experience;
    • agree to pay the normal rental fee for school space and equipment;
    • establish an instructional fee with the  Associate Superintendent - District Learning Services;
    • keep the class as small as economically feasible;
    • hold all classes on the school premises;
    • work directly with the principal of the school at all times, in all matters;
    • work in the school or schools decided upon after consultation between the teacher, the principal, and the Associate Superintendent - District Learning Services;
  • it is further understood that:
    • the  Associate Superintendent - District Learning Services or designate will visit the classes in session to ascertain that the classes are functioning to the mutual satisfaction of all concerned;
    • teachers will be granted permission to do this work whether or not they belong to any specific organization;
    • teachers will encourage their students to participate in the school's musical activities.
  • if tutoring is recommended as a result of the family seeking testing by outside agencies, the following will apply:
    • all requests for tutoring will be reviewed by the principal and the school-based team;
    • the principal will meet with the parents or guardian, who shall provide the principal with the testing results and report(s) of the tutor;
    • if reports are not forthcoming and/or if the recommendation of the school-based team is not compatible with the suggested tutoring program, the principal will send this information by registered mail to the parent, with copies to the Associate Superintendent - District Learning Services;
    • once a tutor has been selected by the family, the principal will meet with the prospective tutor to discuss a program, schedule, and the compatibility of the proposed program (the student shall not receive tutoring during fine or practical arts or physical education time).
    • the tutor will be invited to a school-based team meeting;
    • the final tutoring schedule will be approved by the principal;
    • it is understood that the tutor will co-operate fully with the student's classroom teacher;
    • space shall be provided if available.
