IM-R: Evaluation of Instructional Programs

Locally Developed Course Review 

All locally developed courses offered in the district must receive approval by the Board of School Trustees (the “Board”).  A copy of the Board’s approval shall be forwarded to the Ministry of Education for information and record-keeping. 

To comply with this requirement, a review process has been set up such that all locally developed courses are reviewed upon application and a recommendation is made to the Board.  All locally developed courses must receive the approval of the Board prior to being offered in the schools.  This applies to all locally developed courses, even those that are part of a career programs package.
