KB: Public Information Program
The Board of School Trustees (the “Board”) is aware that the schools serve the people who support them by taxation and consent. The Board also believes that strong and successful schools depend on an informed and knowledgeable public.
Public support is dependent upon an understanding of and participation in the efforts, goals, problems, and successes of the school district. For that reason, the Board has established communication programs within the Office of the Superintendent of Schools. These programs are designed to keep the public informed of its schools and the schools in touch with the community, for only in an atmosphere of active community interest and participation can the schools flourish.
The Communications Co-ordinator provides advice and support to the Board and to staff members in working with the media and generally co-ordinates the communication activities of the Board.
