KGB: Public Conduct on School Property
The School Act states that a person who disturbs or interrupts the proceedings of a meeting of the Board of School Trustees (the “Board”) or the proceedings of a school or an official school function commits an offence.
All unauthorized persons on school grounds are required to leave the land or premises or a school immediately when so directed by anyone authorized to make that direction by the Minister of Education or by the Board. Persons ordered to leave may not return without prior approval to do so.
The School Act specifically authorizes principals to require adequate assistance from a constable or peace officer to restore order on school premises.
