Green Board - Transportation

The VSB Bicycle Advisory Committee meets monthly to discuss transportation related matters within the district. Partner organizations organize professional development opportunities in the areas of cycling skills and safety and walking to school.

In 2010 the district partnered with the City of Vancouver to provide 50 bike racks to VSB schools. All of those racks are now installed and securing bikes!

On the fleet side we have a fully electric forklift at our workshop, 4 hybrid vehicles at our Nursery and some of our trucks use bio-diesel fuel that we purchase from the City of Vancouver.

To support transit use VSB staff can enroll in the Employer Pass Program. This program is for permament VSB staff and provides a 15% discount off of the cost for an annual bus pass. For more information on this program please contact Eva Mathiesen.
