How to Apply for the Support Staff On-Call List

The Vancouver Board of Education accepts applications from external candidates for the positions stated below.  This includes on-call support staff for the purpose of filling day to day and long-term assignments and positions of a specialized nature.

We receive a high volume of applications on an on-going basis and ask that you do not call our office to confirm receipt of your application. Only those selected for interviews will be contacted /acknowledged.

For the School and Student Support positions, it is important to list relevant and related education and experience, including practicum and volunteer experience, on your resume. If you are unsure of the job requirements, please read the job descriptions and/or other postings.

Specific training and/or a willingness to perform personal care, such as toileting and feeding, should be stated on your resume as we quite often are looking for on-call applicants with these skills.

*Please note: We DO NOT recruit for Trades positions as these positions are dispatched from the various union dispatch services. Interested applicants should be contacting the appropriate union hall directly.

We are a very busy district and rely on the availability and flexibility of the on-call Support Staff for a variety of assignments. It is expected that on-call Support Staff are available for work five (5) days a week.

Unless otherwise stated, on-call applications are accepted on a year-round basis and interviews are conducted as required. Please submit copies only of supporting documentation with your application. This includes copies of your degree, diploma, certificate, practicum reports, reference letters, etc.
