Project Definition Phase
The L'ecole Bilingue Elementary renewal process has completed a consultative planning and design process to explore school renewal concept designs. The Board has endorsed the preferred concept (Concept 2B) Replacement Building - West Side. The Project Definition Report will be submitted to the Ministry of Education for capital funding approval.
Open House - Thursday, March 29 from 3 to 7 PM
Staff from the VSB Planning and Facilities Department, the City of Vancouver and project architects were at L'Ecole Bilingue Elementary on Thursday, March 29 from 3 to 7 PM to speak with the public about the school's seismic renewal process.
The Open House provided an overview of the project, presented the seismic renewal concepts being considered and provided an opportunity to gather community feedback on the preferred seismic renewal option. Click on the following link see the Open House Summary.

The Project Team
The Project Team (VBE district staff) has begun meeting regularly. It is being advised by:
- A consultant team, managed by the Colborne Architectural Group as the Prime Consultant and including structural, electrical, civil, and mechanical engineers, a quantity surveyor, landscape architect, heritage consultant, building code consultant, LEED professionals, and others as required.
- The L’Ecole Bilingue Advisory Committee (LEBAC), consisting of the school principal, school staff, and representatives of PAC, existing childcare providers, and the Shaughnessy Heights Property Owners’ Association.
Project Charter & Working Relationships
The purpose of the Project Charter is to set out how the Vancouver Board of Education (VBE) and Colborne Architectural Group and their consultant team will work together to meet the project objectives, address critical success factors, potential issues or constraints, and bring the project components together in a Project Definition Report (PDR). The Charter also identifies the participating committees and their roles.
