Program Description:

This program is for at risk students who have not succeeded in the regular system due to attendance, work, life style or family issues.  The program offers a variety of individualized, self-paced courses in an encouraging environment.  Offering both academic and elective courses primarily at grades 11 and 12.

 

Student Profile:

Students are ages 17 to 20 years old.  The most successful students are those who are mature and serious about their education but who require a supportive, flexible program. 

 

Academic Goal:

Students work towards high school completion either on the regular (Dogwood) or adult diploma.  Hours of operation are Monday to Thursday 8:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

 

Application Process:

Students may apply at any time, if space is available; registration process includes an initial interview, a positive referral from a secondary school Counsellor or Social Worker and an academic assessment.

There is one full time Teacher and 1 part-time Teacher.
