Delegation to Special Board/Committee of the Whole Meetings

In June 2021, the Board passed a motion to continue a Delegation pilot project for the 2021-2022 school year.  This follows the first phase of the pilot that took place in the last three months of the 2020-2021 school year.  During this second phase of the pilot, delegations will not be scheduled or heard at any regular Standing Committees.  Delegations will be received through Committee of the Whole meetings to which stakeholders will be invited and encouraged to attend.  These Committee of the Whole meetings will be scheduled for a week prior to the regular Board meetings.  This second pilot will be evaluated and reviewed at the April, 2022 Board Meeting to make a decision on how to proceed with delegations for the rest of that year and for the 2022-2023 school year.

The dates for Delegation pilot meetings for the 2021-2022 are:

The Province’s Public Health Office’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly changed the way people interact. The requirements to maintain physical distance from others and to not gather in large crowds have resulted in the need to change the way we meet in most cases from face to face to virtual.  The District uses Microsoft Teams as its virtual platform for meetings and has developed procedures to include members of the public who wish to make a delegation to a Committee of the Whole.  Currently the Education Centre is closed to the public.  The Committee of the Whole meetings are live streamed.
