Delegation to Standing Committees
The Province’s Public Health Office’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly changed the way people interact. The requirements to maintain physical distance from others and to not gather in large crowds have resulted in the need to change the way we meet in most cases from face to face to virtual. The District uses Microsoft Teams as its virtual platform for meetings and is developing procedures to include members of the public who wish to make a delegation to a standing committee. These will be in place for the fall. Currently the Education Centre is closed to the public and a decision has been made for the June standing committee meetings that persons wishing to make a delegation will make their delegation in writing. The committee meetings are live streamed and the written submissions will be read out at the beginning of each meeting. If there are questions from committee members, they will be forwarded to the delegation after the meeting for a response and the answers will be provided to the committee members via email in a timely manner.
