Please join thousands of students, business people and political leaders across our province this Wednesday for Day of Pink!
On Wednesday April 14 everyone is encouraged to wear pink to show support against bullying, discrimination and homophobia.
The idea began three years ago at a rural high school in Nova Scotia when a grade 9 boy was harassed for wearing a pink shirt to school. Two senior male students decided enough was enough, and launched the first Day of Pink to show that collectively we can take a stand against this sort of harassment.
The most compelling part of the Day of Pink message is that all of us have the power to speak up as active witnesses when we see discrimination and bullying happening.
Homes and classrooms looking to link to an National Film Board of Canada video that prompts discussion of Wear Pink day topics can go here.
