Ridesharing can be a great way to reduce commuting costs and cut personal carbon emissions without really changing the way you travel. The Vancouver School Board joins organizations across BC to celebrate ride-share week from Oct 4-8, 2010.
Ideal for people with similar destinations and schedules, you can enjoy the company of fellow passengers, reduced travel costs, and can take advantage of HOV (high occupancy vehicle) lanes to get to your destinations faster.
For VSB staff that want to try ride-share, please note that the VSB has a ride-share sub-site for staff that are part of the Jack Bell Foundation ride-share website. The Jack Bell site enables VSB employees who would like to either find or offer car pooling opportunities to link with each other. To access this site go to: https://online.ride-share.com
In the top left hand corner of the Jack Bell home page click on the drop-down menu that reads 'Register with your workplace, school, or organization:' Then scroll down to and click on 'The Vancouver School Board'. It's easy to sign up and the instructions for doing so are on our sub-site.
