On the afternoon of February 1st, 2013 over two dozen students from Vancouver Technical Secondary were brought up on stage and honoured with the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Award for volunteer work. 

"It is a proud moment to see such dedication demonstrated by our staff and all the students who each possess the determination and discipline so necessary to complete the required hours to earn their individual  medals," says Beverly Seed, Van Tech's principal.

Students were awarded the medal by Van Tech staff and Umeeda Switlo, Executive Director, British Columbia & Yukon.
