Strathcona hosted a wide range of learners from many different cultures on Friday, February 15. To celebrate the diversity at the school, each year school staff hosted a colourful Multicultural Festival. This year's festival honored the dozens of different cultures and families in the school community.
This year, Strathcona parents and community partners set up 13 stations, including a variety of multicultural arts and crafts, games and tasty treats such as Vietnamese spring rolls, Canadian trail mix and Mexican tostadas. Students also got a chance to see their name written in Chinese calligraphy.
All participants were encouraged to wear any cultural costumes that was unique to their cultural background.
