On Wednesday March 13, students at Sir Matthew Begbie Elementary School hosted a Global Education Fair with the hopes of inspiring change by showcasing various social problems that are happening around the world.

Robert Wilson, who teaches the grade 6/7 split class that hosted the fair said that every year his class tackles an overwhelming issue that is affecting the global community.

"It teaches the kids about social studies and social responsibility as well," he said. 

Many of the students picked their topics because they want to bring attention to serious problems that are happening and are hoping that the fair with be able to make a difference.

"This is something that people don't think about a lot," said Grade 6 student Rachel Leung, who did her project about child soldiers.  "And it's happening in a lot of places around the world."
