On October 5, Trafalgar principal Adele Tremblay and her entire school community got a big treat. They were visited by Canadian Senator Mobina Jaffer who was on hand to present Tremblay with the special Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for outstanding volunteer service. During the school assembly, the school community celebrated volunteerism, sang Oh Canada (in French) and even got to listen to some great drumming by their award winning principal.
Tremblay says volunteerism is a big part of what makes Trafalgar such a special school community. Recently, the school held its annual Pocket Market, which featured students selling fresh fall produce from the school garden and offering the community sampling of soups and ciders they'd made in their own kitchen.
