This month Templeton Secondary got a big boost from the Rotary Club of Chinatown. After dining on a delicious multi-course meal courtesy of the school's top-level food program, the Rotary club, Templeton and district staff headed to class. There they got the lowdown on iPads and how they're helping to transform how students learn at both the elementary and secondary school level.
During a half hour lesson, technology mentor Zhi Su took the Rotarians through how to use a basic iPad and gave them some colourful real world examples from VSB classrooms where students took their creativity to new levels thanks to the technology, including using the iPad to design their own historical comic books and recording and editing their own videos.
At the end of the presentation, the Chinatown Rotary Club presented a big cheque for $15,000, which will be used to purchase an iPad mobile laboratory for the Templeton Community Schools Team Hub.
