Eastside Schools Aim to Raise Money for Typhoon Victims

Eastside schools including Van Tech, Killarney, and Windermere are rallying to support the people of the Philippines.

The "A Night to Remember Philippine Typhoon Victims" fundraising concert is being organized to raise money for the victims of this month's disastrous storm. The performance will be held at Van Tech's auditorium on Thursday, November 21 at 7:00 p.m (doors open at 6:30).

"East Vancouver students will be showcasing their talents as dancers and singers during the event," said Mark Reid, Van Tech's Fine Arts Head and one of the concert organizers. "We will also have donation boxes outside, tables selling calendars and other items hand-made by students with all proceeds going to the typhoon fund."

All money raised will be matched by the federal government.
