Point Grey Raises Thousands for Typhoon Survivors

Point Grey Secondary's Typhoon Haiyan Relief Week, which was organized by student council from Dec 2-6, was an outstanding success.

Through the combined effort of numerous clubs, the school's fundraisers engaged the entire student body and raised over $2,500.

"With the federal government matching the donation, the net result is $5,000. Well done Hounds! Honor Ante Honores!" said Point Grey principal Irfan Sheikh.

The Point Grey student clubs who participated included SPCA, Do It Yourself, World Vision, Business Fashion Design,The Love Club, Han Fu Club, the Duke of Edinburgh Club and the Business Entrepreneur Club..

On Friday December 13, a cheque presentation was made to Jennifer Wong, who works with the Red Cross.
