Van Tech Students and Staff Salute Translink Drivers with Hot Chocolate

On Thursday of the last week of school before the holiday break, Van Tech students rose early to trek to school and prepare hundreds of cups of warm hot chocolate. The hot chocolate give away is an annual tradition at Van Tech, which gives students an opportunity to thank bus drivers for ferrying them around Metro Vancouver the rest of the year.

The event was originally started by Rod McNeil, a Social Studies/Geography teacher who has since retired. It has been carried on by Terry Stanway, Bob Doyle, Dan Wyper and other teachers in the Summit Program with the support of Sophia Thomson and the cafeteria staff.

Principal Bev Seed says she wants to thank all the teachers and students who make the annual event happen.
