Secondary Students Across the District Swap Schools for a Week

Heard of sister city exchanges? This April, students from the VSB took part in a sister school exchange, where 105 students from East and Westside schools swapped places and took turns attending schools on the other side of the city.

This was the ninth year of the sister school switch. Two students from Grades 9 - 12 from each secondary school took part (for example students from Prince of Wales will be going to Gladstone and vice versa).

The goals of the program are to make new friends and to break down barriers between schools, to experience a different school culture and to allow kids to observe different aspects of school life and possibly introduce these new ideas at their own school.

At the end of the 4 days there was a forum and celebration and debrief led by the Vancouver District Student Council Executive.
