On April 9, 2014, nine Eric Hamber students competed in six different competition categories at the 20th Provincial Skills Canada competitions at the Tradex in Abbotsford. Many competitors from a number of regions from across British Columbia came together for the yearly competition for a chance to represent BC at Skills Canada National Competition in June.
At the end of the day, Eric Hamber competitors won two golds, three silvers, and one bronze medal. Patricia Roque and Fiona Siu, both retained their gold standings from the regionals in Fashion Technology and Graphic Design, while Janiece Loftstrom followed Patricia closely earning a silver in Fashion Technology. Two other Hamber students won a silver medal: Hanatu Tak in Job Search and Zac Vescera in Public Speaking and in Culinary Arts, Bernice Chung won a bronze medal from a field of 11 competitiors.

"Patricia and Fiona now move on to the Skills Canada National Competition in early June in Toronto, for a chance at another medal and the right to represent Canada at the 2015 World Skills Competition in Sao Paulo, Brazil!"
