Waverly's New Playground Coming Sooner than Expected with Big Donation

Waverly Elementary students got a big surprise form the Charros Foundation this May. The school received $60,000 from the Foundation to help build their playground at a special assembly held on Friday morning just before they kicked off their sports day.

School Vice-principal Maria Donovan says the Charros donation allowed the school to increase its fundraising goals and build the new playground even sooner than they'd hoped.

During the short ceremony, students got a chance to view some of the drawings for their future playground and gave a loud cheer of eager anticipation when the images of the future play structure were revealed.
