On a sunny fall afternoon, all the students from Hastings Elementary headed out to the front of their school for the official opening of their playground.
During the ceremony, Hastings Principal Donna Emeno thanked her PAC community for their outstanding work raising thousands of dollars to pay for the new playground.
Significant donations were made by local businesses: SNC Lavallin, West Coast Reduction Ltd., London Drugs Foundation, Viterra, and many more.
One special supporter also in attendance, was Paul William Richardson. Richardson, a Hastings Elementary alumnus, attended the school in the 1930s and to commemorate the event brought some of his original report cards to share with the students, parents and teachers.
PAC members welcomed parents and students, and also thanked everyone for their hard work and dedication to the project. "Thank you so much to the hundreds of volunteers and donors who helped make this dream a reality! It's a fantastic playground that the children and community will enjoy for many years to come!"
