Prince of Wales Mini is Visited by a Storm Chaser

On Tuesday, October 22, 2013, George Kourounis, renowned Canadian storm chaser and weather extremist visited a class of grade nine science students at Prince of Wales Secondary to encourage them to follow their dreams and pursue careers in science.

Kourounis talked to students about his extreme experiences - from chasing tornado outbreaks in Kansas, monster hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico, forest fires in British Columbia and even being lowered into an erupting volcano.

During his visit, Kourounis demonstrated different science experiments including a vortex canon with the help of Let's Talk Science's Bonnie Schmidt, Amgen's Jim Favaro and a Prince of Wales student.
