For the 19th year in a row, students and families from Hastings Elementary enjoyed a delicious holiday meal thanks to the volunteer support of the school community and the generosity of a wide range of organizations and companies led by Seabridge Marine - a long-time lead sponsor of the Inner City Christmas Dinner.
This year, the fundraising effort netted $29,930 for Hastings Community School team's Kids First program and Inner City Community Christmas Dinner. The dinner was held on the evening of December 4 and included a visit from santa and a full turkey dinner made by the students of Templeton secondary school. The whole operation was made possible with the help of 61 adult volunteers and 23 youth volunteers. Community volunteers were primarily from the neighbourhood's banks and schools.
"Every year our incredible community sponsors led by Seabridge Marine, come together to support this wonderful holiday event," she says. "Without their ongoing support, none of this would be possible."
