In June, Pinnacle students and staff gathered at Hillcrest Community Centre for a formal ceremony to celebrate the student's graduation. After formal remarks from VSB Chair Patti Bacchus and Superintendent Steve Cardwell, students heard a valedictorian address from Sarafina Prouting.
Prouting is also currently attending Future Hair Design on a $10,000 bursary. She was joined by grad Amanda James, who is currently working at Strathcona Community Center and plans to attend Native Education College in September to become a Child and Youth Worker, Serena Shum who hopes to one day become a pharmacist's assistant and Tiffany Tien, who is currently working full time at Winners with dreams of saving up to go back to school.
Following the ceremony, the grads enjoyed coffee, cake and plenty of photos with their friends, family and graduation certificates.
