SACY and Van Tech Host Forum to Help Parents Talk About Substances with Teens

On Tuesday, April 14, SACY, the VSB and Vancouver Coastal Health will be hosting a forum for parents where they can learn some great tips about how to have challenging conversations with their children about substances.

The event will run between 7 PM and 9 PM (doors open at 6:40) and will include expert panelists such as Dr. Joy Johnson VP of Research at SFU's TRACE project, Annie Smith, the Executive Director of the McCreary Centre Society and Jamie Shaw, President of the Canadian Association of Medical Cannabis Dispensaries (CAMCD) and BC Compassion Club Society.

According to organizers, parents will learn how to have honest and respectful discussions with teens, how to support their critical thinking and making healthy choices and what the most appropriate limits to promote youth health and well-being are.
