On a sunny Wednesday this April, 170 intermediate students from Osler Elementary headed out onto the school field for a special track and field program. That morning they were led by Osler Principal Shannon Burton in a range of warm activities before they headed to six different stations including sprints, relay, high jump, long jump, strength training and shot put.
Burton says the special program will run for six weeks. It is the result of a deep commitment from her staff, most of whom coach various track and field sports, to get their kids active and involved.
