Selkirk Elementary School recently hosted students from Dickens Elementary and General Wolfe Elementary for its third annual Chess tournament. Last year, CBC News profiled Selkirk's chess club, where Selkirk was referred to as "the school where chess is cool".
The chess club occurs once a week, and hosts up to 80 students each session.
Combined with Dickens' and Wolfe's popular chess clubs, the tournament was full of eager and excited students and parent volunteers.
Parent organizers Heather and Cy busily supervised the tournament, recorded scores, coordinated teams, and ensured the day was a resounding success.
