This month, Dr. Annie B. Jamieson Elementary School held a Thanksgiving lunch to share the meaning of the holiday with the school community.
Sponsored by the Jamieson Parent Advisory Council, everyone was treated to a bowl of chicken noodle soup supplied by Serious Soups -warmed up and evenly distributed in bowls - by parent volunteers, as well as rolls and pumpkin tarts donated for the occasion by Cobs Bread.
All students and staff sat down together for lunch in the decorated gym and activity room. Susan Reardon, Principal, and Mark Cormack, Vice-principal, explained the meaning of Thanksgiving and encouraged everyone to consider their own reasons to give thanks.
"Amazing thanks and appreciation goes to the 50 or so Jamieson parent volunteers who pitched in to make it all happen," says Reardon. "It was a wonderful Thanksgiving luncheon."
