(April 7, 2017) Vancouver School Board (VSB) has enhanced its budget process for 2017-18 by adding an online survey to give as many people as possible a chance to provide feedback.
The district is also altering its approach to the budget by preparing a five-year business plan to determine spending priorities that align with the five-year Strategic Plan adopted by the Vancouver Board of Education in Oct. 2016.
VSB has released budget proposals to address the projected 2017-18 budget shortfall of $2.13 million.
The VSB will consult with its stakeholders and the public through a number of public committee and board meetings. New this year is the online survey, which gives more people an opportunity to provide their feedback on budget priorities.
The survey is online now at govsb.ca/budgetsurvey and will close at 5 p.m. on Apr. 18, 2017. A report of the survey results will be presented at the public board meeting on Apr. 24, 2017.
