Hybrid Classes

What We do:

VSB’s Adult Education program offers students ages 16 years or older courses from the literacy level to secondary school completion. Each year, more than 3,000 students enrol in Adult Education to complete their secondary school education and upgrade prerequisite courses for post-secondary programs.

Students study with us to:

  • Improve their marks for post-secondary entrance
  • Advance their skills for future employment
  • Complete their high school diploma

Focused on flexibility and inclusivity:

We recognize that many Adult Education students come from different backgrounds and have busy lives. Starting in September 2022, we’re offering evening classes in a hybrid learning pilot! We’re excited to offer students greater accessibility and flexibility in their studies.

About the Hybrid Learning Pilot:

The hybrid learning pilot aims to provide more flexibility for Adult Education students for the 2022-2023 school year. The pilot includes a combination of in-person and online attendance for students that wish to enrol in the 7:00 to 9:30 pm evening classes only.

During the first week of instruction, students are required to attend all classes in-person. Students will then work with their teacher to set their attendance schedule that fits their needs, through a combination of in-person and/or online for the remainder of the term.

Please note: There is a minimum of 55 percent attendance required in person.
