Elementary Learning Support Program

Program Description

Elementary Learning Support Programs provide targeted instruction for students formally identified as having a learning disability. The ELSP program is designed to assist students with specific academic areas by providing intensive evidence-based targeted literacy instruction. The students participate in age-appropriate mainstream classes for physical education, art, music and academic subjects whenever possible and appropriate. 

Student Profile

  • Meets  the Ministry criteria for a ‘Q’ designation (Learning Disabilities)
  • literacy skills are 2 years or more below grade level
  • Grade 4 to 7
