14-year-old Tiffany Kong has no time to be anxious about going back to school. Instead, she’s preparing to play in a prestigious women’s golf tournament this weekend. On a sunny Wednesday this April, 170 intermediate students from Osler Elementary headed out onto the school field for a special track and field program. That morning they were led by Osler Principal Shannon Burton in a range of warm activities before they headed to six different stations including sprints, relay, high jump, long jump, strength training and shot put.

Fifteen students from Britannia Secondary’s Street2Peak team climbed Mount Kilimanjaro this Spring Break after training for over a year by hiking the mountains of the Northshore and running marathons in Vancouver and Seattle. Funds for the project came from 11 months of fundraising, donations, and gear and equipment sponsorships.
