Redacted report of external investigation into bullying and harassment now available

Media Release

VSB has received several requests for the full report by Roslyn Goldner into allegations of bullying and harassment at the Vancouver School Board. We are aware that the public has a significant interest in the outcome of the investigation.

We are now able to release a redacted version of the 44-page report to media and the public. The report has been redacted in accordance with Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act requirments to protect the privacy rights of individuals.

Ms. Goldner determined that a toxic work environment had been created at VSB and found evidence that staff were subject to direct bullying and personal harassment. This report details her investigation and findings.

Harassment of any kind is not acceptable in the workplace and absolutely will not be permitted at the Vancouver School Board or in any of our schools. It is unacceptable that senior staff were not provided a safe and respectful environment.

We are now focused on ensuring that a culture of respect will be in place at the Vancouver School Board for the long term, and continue in place even with changes in senior management and trustees.
