Tupper valedictorian heads to Athens to represent Canada in World Scholars Cup

Schools & Students

Zachary Goldthorpe, a student from Sir Charles Tupper Secondary School participated in the CPABC Coin Competition, in May testing his accounting knowledge against the top Accounting students in the province of British Columbia. Last month, it was announced that Zach placed first in the province, earning him a $1500 prize.

The feat is only one of many that Zach has accomplished during his senior year, as he has also being named valedictorian of his graduating class, and has been selected to represent Tupper, the VSB and Canada in the Word Scholars Cup that begins this week in Athens, Greece.

Zach will be joining a team of two students from Isreal, where they will be challenged to debate, create thoughtful essays, and test their knowledge on the topic of an ‘an unlikely world’. Zach qualified for the Global round of the World Scholars Cup with an impressive showing at the regional competition with his Tupper debate team.

We wish Zachary the best of luck in his summer endeavors, this is a well-deserved opportunity for a student who represents both his home school of Tupper and the VSB with the utmost respect, dignity and character.
