EGAA: Printing and Photocopying Services Copyright Protection

E: Support Services

Original material published/produced by the Board of School Trustees (the “Board”) is protected by copyright.  Appropriate materials are also formally registered with the Government of Canada's Bureau of Intellectual Property.

Many curriculum guides and resource books are developed by teachers and others for the Board and its staff.  Under the Canadian copyright laws, publications such as these are protected by copyright and may not be duplicated without permission.  However, since many Board materials are circulated widely and are available for sale, significant publications are also registered to protect formally the rights of the Board and its financial investment in developing material. This policy protects both the producer and the consumer and encourages a high level of original work.
