Committees are comprised of member trustees and representatives of the District’s stakeholder groups. Meetings are livestreamed and are also available for viewing following their conclusion.
The Finance Committee met virtually on February 17, 2021.
The meeting began with an update on the District operating fund for the six months up to December 31, 2020.
Members received details on spending of the District’s portions of the Provincial Safe Return to School Grant and the Federal Safe Return to Class Fund. The provincial funds support items such as cleaning supplies, sanitizer stations, and masks. The federal grant provided funds for ventilation system upgrades and mental health supports for students and staff, along with other supports and items.
After hearing information on the Amended Annual Budget Bylaw 2020-21, the committee sent the bylaw recommendation to the Board for consideration.
The next Finance Committee meeting is scheduled for April 21, 2021.
