Thank
you for your interest in volunteering at Livingstone.
Volunteers may be classroom and library helpers, coaches, drivers and
chaperones on field trips, etc. Many of the special programs and activities
offered by our schools could not continue without their support and involvement.
A large number of volunteers are parents of children in the schools or members
of the community and local business people.
Volunteers (whether parents, university students or individuals from the
community) provide invaluable service to students, school staff members and
school programs.
If you would like to volunteer at Livingstone, please contact your child's
teacher or the principal.
All volunteers in VSB schools are asked to read the
VBE Guidelines for Adults Interacting with Students. The purpose of these
guidelines is to clarify and affirm the Vancouver Board of Education's
expectations of all adults in interactions with students of the Vancouver school
district.
Volunteers who may be supervising students alone without a VSB employee
present are asked to undergo a Police Records Check. Instructions on how to
request an online criminal record check via the British Columbia Criminal
Records Review Program will be made available to volunteers by their sponsor (the VSB employee with whom they are working directly), or the principal.
Volunteer drivers must complete a Volunteer Driver Registration and
Approval Form and a Volunteer Conduct Agreement. Volunteer drivers do not need a
criminal record check.
