Today, November 25, is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. On this day, we acknowledge all types of gender-based violence – including harassment, physical, sexual or psychological harm. This day is recognized in the hopes of working toward women’s empowerment and gender equality.
We have created a video in hopes of raising awareness and understanding the impact that violence has on society. According to the United Nations, it is one of the most widespread and devastating human rights issues in our world today. Everyone benefits when the world is a safer and more just place for all. We stand against gender-based violence because we believe that no one should be made to feel like they deserve abuse.
As we have learned through school, education empowers us. By increasing awareness about this issue, we are breaking down the stigma and shame, and we hope to open doors to impactful discussion.
